Welcome to Balanced Harmony. By browsing this website or booking a session, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions, which govern Carol Slack’s relationship with you in relation to this website and her hypnotherapy & coaching practice.

1. Professional Status & Disclaimer

• Complementary Therapy: Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy designed to support your well-being; it does not replace conventional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  
  

• Practitioner Status: Carol Slack is a student practitioner with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and is not a licensed medical doctor or mental health professional. She does not diagnose or treat medical or psychiatric conditions.
   

• GP Consultation: If your reason for an appointment or enquiry relates to a diagnosed medical or mental health condition, it may be necessary to obtain your GP's approval before hypnotherapy sessions can begin.
   

• Client Responsibility: You are fully responsible for providing accurate and complete details regarding your health and medication, and you must notify Carol Slack immediately of any changes.
   

• Outcomes: Because every individual is unique, there can be no guarantees regarding the outcome of any treatment, and Carol Slack accepts no liability in this regard. Success relies on a collaborative effort and your active, positive input.
   

2. Confidentiality

Carol Slack is a registered member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and strictly abides by their Code of Ethics. Matters discussed during your enquiries or sessions remain strictly confidential.

The only exceptions to this confidentiality clause are if:

• It is reasonably believed that you or someone else is at risk of serious harm.

• Disclosure regarding the harm or abuse of a child is made. 

• It is ordered by a UK court of law. 

• Awareness of an act of terrorism occurs.

If it is believed you are at risk of harming yourself, every effort will be made to discuss this with you first before potentially contacting your GP or Local Crisis Team.

Note: In accordance with best clinical practice and training requirements, work may be discussed with a supervisor. The supervisor is bound by the exact same strict code of confidentiality.

3. Fees and Payment

• All therapy fees will be confirmed during your initial consultation or enquiry and are dependent on the specific treatment plan required.
   

• All fees are payable strictly in advance of your scheduled session.
   

• Refunds are not standard and are considered solely at the practitioner’s discretion under exceptional circumstances.
  
  

4. Cancellations, Late Arrivals, and Missed Appointments

• Notice Period: A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full.
   

• Rescheduling: If proper notice is given, one alternative session date will be offered.
   

• Late Arrivals: If you arrive late for an appointment, the session cannot be extended beyond the original scheduled ending time out of respect for subsequent clients.
   

• Practitioner Cancellation: On rare occasions where Carol Slack is unable to keep an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, as much notice as possible will be given, and the session will be rearranged at the earliest opportunity.
   

5. Complaints Procedure

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your treatment or service, please raise your concerns directly with Carol Slack so an amicable resolution can be found. If matters cannot be resolved, you are entitled to contact the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) for further independent guidance.
